A Unique Foodie's Perspective of the Ba Dinh Neighbourhood
Even after two weeks eating our way through Vietnam, Dũng guided my husband and I to some truly unique local foods and eateries. We would never have been able to experience some of these restaurants without a local’s perspective. There was a well thought out curation of different types of foods (textures and flavours) throughout the course of the tour. Dũng was super knowledgeable and a blast to spend an afternoon with. We would highly recommend this food tour for anyone considering a unique experience.
Perfect first-day introduction to Hanoi – Dũng was an amazing guide!
We chose the “Exquisite Flavors of Ba Dinh” food tour for our very first day in Vietnam, and it was the best way to kick off our trip. Dũng was the ideal guide: friendly, knowledgeable, and with excellent English. He took us to a variety of local spots we never would have found on our own, and every restaurant offered something unique and delicious.
Having a guide who spoke Vietnamese made everything so much easier. Dũng handled ordering, explained the dishes, and sorted out payment at the end, which removed all the stress for us as first-timers. The standout for me was the caramel spot (caramen/Vietnamese flan). It was hands down the best flan I’ve ever had,incredibly soft and delicate, not too eggy and perfectly balanced in sweetness.
We originally discovered this tour through Reddit, where all the reviews were glowing and now I completely understand why. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone unfamiliar with Vietnam or Hanoi in general. It’s a fantastic, low-pressure way to dive into the local food scene with someone who truly knows their stuff.
Great way to immerse yourself in the culture!
First time in Hanoi and I wanted to take my parents to have authentic Vietnamese food. Not only was Dũng very knowledgeable about the cuisine, but he was also very accommodating to my elderly parents. We were able to get many wonderful tastes of Hanoi without overexerting ourselves. It was a very memorable experience, one that we will fondly remember during our time in Hanoi and in Vietnam.

Hello – my daughter, Bridie and I recently did an incredible Ba Dinh street food tour with Dũng and we just wanted to give a review because I couldn’t work out how to leave a review online. It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon exploring Hanoi and enjoying all the food which we had never experienced before.
